The old church is a typical medieval parish curch. The church is to be considered as both a museum and a church, and is built in roman style around the year 1200. It is quite a big church with nave, choir and sacristy. In the southeastern corner of the choir there is a unique stone with an ornamented lion. The outside of the church was reconditioned during the years 1997 - 98. Just like Jäts old church, this church also is a popular wedding church.
On the cemetary there is a grave marked with a fence and an iron cross. It is made to remember Jonas Nilsson and Stina-Cajsa Månsdotter who were the parents of the opera singer Kristina Nilsson.
