Desolated crofters holding called "Hope*"Ödetorpet "Hoppet"
Theonella Rask lived in the backridge cottage. She was born 1841 in Ekeberga and married 1863. A marriage that lasted only 6 years when her husbond left for America. He disappeared there and was thought dead maybe murded. She brought up six children, the last was born after he had left. One can say that "Hope" was the only thing left for the family. Four of the children left for America. Later the last two. The youngest was ten years old with an address pinned on him. Last to go was Theonella the year 1892.The same year the cottage was pulled down and taken out of the church book. Where the cottage was located became a charcoal stack. Charcoal was much used and a coaler moved from one village to another. Coal in war time was stopped so charcoal got an upswing. You can see the remains 50 metres in the forest.
More places to see you will find here and on the map here has Ödetorpet "Hoppet" the designation E29.
