Desolate crofters holding "Ödetorpet Vinningen"
With its skvaltmill and snake looking spruce tree. "Vinningen" is a beautiful name with a feeling of confidence. By "Galtabäcken" you can still see remains. Lake Rottnen had for a short time its outflow over lake "Tomtsjön" and through "Galtabäcken" to lake Rolsmosjön. The skvalt mill lay on ground belonging to Östregård 1:5 and many farms grinded there flour as there was much water. The mill wheels were horizontal and the grindstones were upstairs.
The holding was pulled down 1910. The last living here was Johan Wilhelm Johannesson. He was married 1888 to Augusta. She was known as a sweet-maker such as peppermint wreaths in black and white for funerals. She had many who bought from her.
Near the stream grows this special spruce tree which is so different. It is under protaction.
More places to see you will find here and on the map here has Ödetorpet "Vinningen" the designation E30.
