Folaboda mansion, a gem in southern Sweden for those who look for peace and solitude! The farm is in a very scenic area and completely private with own beach at Lake Åsnen. This lake is one of Sweden's largest lakes known for its fine fishing and rich wildlife. Around the courtyard there is a large private garden with lots of beautiful apple trees. There are stunning locations at the lake for swimming and barbecues. The area surrounding the farm is characterized by the beautiful and quiet countryside. Indoor is fully equipped for up to 10 people.

History:

Folaboda has been mentioned as early as 1531 and became one of the larger farms on the Vembo penninsula in Småland. The noble family Gyllengrip developped the farm. From 1621 it became Vembo-Manor. In 1721 Colonel Christian Boije took over the farm and later became owner of the area east and south of Åsnen. Most of Folaboda is believed to be built during this time. From the beginning of the 1900s and until 2006 the mansion belonged to the family Svensson who has driven one of the largest orchards in the district. Since the end of 2006, the mansion is owned by three families, family Collin, family Johansson and family Laksjö. The vision is to develop the mansion with its own cidermaking, forestry, fishing and hunting. The mansion is rented out to private individuals and businesses when the families are not there.

Description of the house

The main house is about 240 sqm and very suitable for more families.

Upstairs there are:

Four bedrooms with two large comfortable beds in each room

A crib

A living room with satellite TV and DVD

A hall with a large bureau

Two toilets, one with shower

On the ground floor are:

A room with double bed for two persons

A kitchen A dining room with seating for ten people

A bathroom with shower, washer and dryer

A living room with fireplace, satellite TV and DVD

In the mansion there is a beautiful hall of high historical value. With great care, we use the hall and our ultimate desire is that everyone who lives on the farm shall pay respect to this. There is a computer connected to the Internet. There are also bicycles, rowingboats, canoeing, games, etc. All may be used but we cannot guarantee that everything is in working order.

Outdoor : In the garden and the beach are patios.

BBQ available.

Fishing from the beach belonging to the farm are included.

In the price included is a rowing boat, a canoe and bicycles.
